Toussaint Egan (he/him) has written about anime, games, movies, and comics for over a decade for publications such as Complex, Playboy, The A.V. Club, Paste, and Polygon — where he has served as a curation editor since 2021, highlighting the best movies, TV, and everything else you can enjoy from home. He is a proud member of the Chicago Film Critics Association and Vox Media Union.

He co-curated a list of the 100 best anime films with Toonami co-creator Jason DeMarco, contributed to Vulture’s list of the 100 most influential sequences in animation history, and served as a judge for the 2023 and 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

(Some of) his favorite artists are Jean “Mœbius” Giraud, James Jean, and Ivan Aivazovsky, and (some of) his favorite writers are James Baldwin, Ian M. Banks, and Ursula K. Le Guin.
