Chester had to move a game up a day last week because of the winter storm.

The winter storm that rolled through the area late last week didn’t end up delivering as much snow and ice as was anticipated but it did deliver some changes to the local sports schedule.

The Chester boys and girls basketball teams were slated to open the region season on Friday with home games against Eau Claire. With the winter storm set to arrive that day, however, a decision was made to move the contests to Thursday. The Lady Cyclones had a competitive effort but eventually lost in close fashion, falling to Eau Claire 48-42. That dropped the team to 8-3 overall and 0-1 in region play.
