On Monday, January 20, 2025, the Camden-Kershaw County Branch, NAACP will pay tribute in honor and remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His legacy will be celebrated at Camden First United Methodist Church, DeKalb and Church Streets, at 4:30 in the afternoon with Dr. Jennifer Clyburn Reed as the keynote speaker. Music will be provided by a community choir conducted by Minister of Music, Sam Dennis.

Dr. King, a 1964 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, the internationally respected civil rights leader, and eminent world peace leader will also be remembered by many as an influential member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and a passionate southern Baptist minister who preached to different denominations, giving them hope while extending his overflowing love to them.
