Ask Pinstripe Alley: Yankees mailbag questions request

The mailbag sets up for a significant week in the Juan Soto sweepstakes.

Madison Pavich is a staff editor for Pinstripe Alley, where she got her start as a writer in 2017 before joining the editorial team in 2020.

The offseason is in full swing, and things have slowed down to a crawl as the major names make their first passes through the throng of suitors. No one’s name is drawing more attention than Juan Soto, and the superstar has been fielding teams and their pitches for a few days now. The industry expects his decision no later than the Winter Meetings towards the start of December, and it could come even earlier, so we won’t be waiting around until spring arrives for this headliner to make his move.

The Yankees, of course, hope to retain Soto’s services for next season and many beyond it. Their success in his first year in pinstripes was electric, even if they failed to stick the landing, and building off of that chemistry he formed with Aaron Judge atop the lineup will be essential for a revenge tour in 2025. What are the odds as they stand for Soto to return? Will the bidding get into unprecedented financial figures? Who are the biggest threats to entice him away? If you have questions like these, or anything else on your mind, send ‘em in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
