Pepsi has pretty big news for people who love the soda (Coke fans, feel free to disregard this article).
The brand will very soon be releasing a new — and permanent — flavor.
According to Food & Wine, the soft drink behemoth will launch its brand spanking new Wild Cherry & Cream flavor next week, starting Jan. 20. The drink will be released nationwide in 12-ounce cans, and some places will offer 20-ounce bottles, too.
The same Food & Wine article describes the soda as a combination of cherry and vanilla along with that iconic cola taste. There will also be both sugar and sugar-free options of the Wild Cherry & Cream, the latter being, of course, for the more health-tilted folks.
“It’s wild! It’s creamy! It’s cherry-y. And it’s permanent!” reads a Nerdist X post accompanying news of the flavor’s release. “Pepsi announces its newest flavor, Pepsi Wild Cherry & Cream.”
Nerdist reports how, by releasing this new flavor, Pepsi is jumping on a surge in cherry-flavored items’ popularity.
“Look at Pepsi not just dropping a new flavor but with amazing-looking cans as well!” reads another X post. “Starting in January we’ll get new Wild Cherry & Cream Pepsi in both regular and zero sugar.
“I am a sucker for sodas that add cream to existing flavors, so this one sounds promising to me!”
