Friends,

Not long ago, I was on a seven-hour drive through the barren desert to a film location in Tonopah, Nevada when I stopped at an intersection in the small town of Lone Pine, California. A sign above the road caught my eye. It read...

“Artists need to create on the same scale that humanity has the capacity to destroy”.

That little sign above the road continues to inspire me every day.

Appreciatively,

A Diverse Filmography

Yo Ling

I’ve always been drawn to the complexity of people—the way we think, feel, and navigate the world. That curiosity has shaped my approach to acting, and over the years, I’ve been blessed to play a wide range of characters, each with their own story to tell. Every role has been a chance to dig deeper into what it means to be human, and every project has been part of the journey I’m still on.

The Magic of Movies

Theater and acting have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I spent countless Saturday afternoons at the Weymouth Landing movie house, caught up in the performances of Montgomery Clift, Geraldine Page, Marlon Brando, Ann Bancroft, Paul Newman, Lee J. Cobb, Karl Malden, James Dean, Eli Wallach, Eva Marie Saint. They BECAME their parts. Their performances felt so real they stayed with me long after the credits rolled. I wanted to know how these actors brought characters to life in such an honest way, and understand more about the techniques they used to accomplish that. When I decided to become an actor at age 22, I wanted to study with some of their teachers… Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse and Lee Strasberg at The Actor’s Studio in New York.  Looking back, I’m grateful for my extraordinary teachers and for the many gifted actors whose work continues to inspire me.
