Two people were killed Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash near FM 3503 and Loop 338.
According to a Texas Department of Public Safety report, Irek Gumerov, 26, of Houston was traveling south on FM 3503 in a Volkswagen Golf when he failed to yield the right of way at Loop 338 to an Abilene man who was driving a semi tractor trailer east on SE Loop 338 around 5 p.m.
Gumerov and his passenger, Kaelee Adams, 20, of Cypress, Texas, both of whom were wearing seat belts, were pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, who was also wearing a seat belt, was taken to Medical Center Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
