An Earthling Tunes In to a Hidden Universal Message

Wonderful ideas are available to all of us, says the singer-songwriter Beverly Glenn-Copeland, a terrestrial fellow traveler.

Haruka Aoki is an artist, illustrator and author.

ImageAn illustrated panel shows a airmail type border and a mail stamp that reads “Planet Earth Nov. 3, 2024.” Hand-drawn text reads from the top: “Letter No. 3. Letters from Earthling. Dear Friend, Today, it felt as if some benevolent force were trying to get me out of the house. The brilliant blue sky seemed to say, “Come out here, you!” and a soft breeze guided me to the tree where we had met in June.” Next to the text is a cut paper illustration of a bearded figure in a hat with a red flower pinned in it. Blue curves surround the figure, giving the appearance of a fall breeze. Earthling’s scarf and a few fall leaves are seen blowing in the breeze.
