Lake Dardanelle State Park to offer program for women in 2025

RUSSELLVILLE -- Lake Dardanelle State Park staff will offer its O.W.L.S. (Outdoor Women Learning Skills) series beginning in January.

The O.W.L.S. program is designed to give women the opportunity to explore the available recreation at Lake Dardanelle and the surrounding areas and to learn skills and knowledge they need to enjoy nature, according to a news release from the park.

Each workshop will be held from 9-11 a.m. one Saturday morning a month and attendees may come to one or all of the programs. The workshops will be held at the Lake Dardanelle State Park visitor center.

The topics for 2025 include:

Jan. 18 – Compass and GPS

Feb. 15 – Camping 101

March 15 – Birding

April 19 – Fishing

May 17 – Kayaking

Registration is $30 per person per day which includes materials. Space will be limited. To register, call the park's visitor center at (479) 967-5516.
