**********************************************
I was introduced to this program by a professor of the International Exchange Committee of the School of Nursing and Medical Care, and through my participation in this program, I met valuable friends who share a common dream of becoming a person who can help their loved ones and people's loved ones in times of emergency or disaster.
In my speech, I shared my experience about how a mentor I trusted opened up a new path for me when I couldn't handle the situation on my own. I am currently working in the Emergency Department of the United States with the goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
The knowledge and skills I gained at Keio University and the TOMODACHI J&J Disaster Nursing Program, as well as the network that has grown from these experiences, are invaluable to me.

At Keio University School of Nursing and Medical Care, in response to the spread of the novel coronavirus in 2020, volunteer faculty members, mainly in the field of community nursing, joined the Fujisawa City Public Health Center to support active epidemiological surveys and cluster response at elderly facilities.
In this study, the health center analyzed the occurrence of the disease in elderly residential facilities where it conducted a proactive epidemiological survey and examined the factors that prevent clusters from occurring, based on the characteristics of each facility type.
This activity led to an agreement between Fujisawa City and Keio University School of Nursing and Medical Care on the promotion of community health activities as of April 1, 2023, with the aim of contributing to the promotion of healthy community development that is sustainable and takes advantage of local characteristics.
