D-SNAP

The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) provides food assistance for individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton and who are not receiving food assistance through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). In partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, D-SNAP is implemented by the Florida Department of Children and Families (Department).

Starting Monday, October 28, 2024, the Department began implementing D-SNAP in a phased approach by county. Each county offered residents both a telephonic option and an onsite option for applying.

Telephonic D-SNAP events have ended for all counties, but residents in DeSoto, Columbia, Hillsborough, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Pinellas, Polk, and Taylor can still apply bye attending onsite events. Specific dates, times, and locations for remaining onsite events are still being determined and will be announced here soon.

Pre-registration is required by all applicants and will reopen online on the first day of each county’s onsite event and close on the last day. Dates and locations will be announced online and applicants are encouraged to pre-register online for faster service.

Please view the counties and check back for ongoing D-SNAP announcements and updates.
