Matthew Brune is an Associate at Mullen Coughlin, practicing in the Firm’s Incident Response practice group. As a Breach Coach for organizations who are experiencing, or have experienced, a data privacy and security incident, Matthew coordinates the response and investigation into the incident. Working with third-party incident response vendors, Matthew determines the nature and scope of the incident, and uses information gleaned throughout the investigation to counsel the victim organization on their legal, regulatory and/or contractual duties stemming from the incident. This includes reporting to law enforcement, effectuating individual notification requirements and responding to state, federal and industry-related regulatory body investigations. Matthew also provides post-incident assistance the procurement of credit/identity monitoring on behalf of the organization, as well as internal and external communications regarding the incident and the organization’s response and investigation into said incident.
Matthew joined Mullen Coughlin from an AmLaw 200 law firm where he was a M&A transactional attorney.
Outside of his legal practice, Matthew serves as a volunteer consultant for non-profit organizations with Compass Pro Bono.
