Mansfield Rule Certified Plus
Morrison Foerster received “Mansfield Certification Plus” recognition for 2024, joining a select group of firms to receive the honor every year since Diversity Lab’s launch of the Mansfield Rule in 2017.
Mansfield is a year-long, structured certification process to ensure that all talent at our firm have fair opportunities to advance into leadership. The focus is on opening the door wider so that opportunities for advancement are transparent and inclusive for everyone. Mansfield seeks to promote a level playing field by recognizing firms that have implemented transparent advancement processes and have considered at least 30% of their leadership candidates from underrepresented groups.
To achieve our Plus designation, we voluntarily provided data to Diversity Lab to show our progress and outcomes of our efforts to broaden talent pools and increase the visibility of our advancement processes. This transparency allows MoFo and Diversity Lab to celebrate progress and to identify areas with continued opportunities for improvement.
With the introduction of new and more challenging requirements each year, Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Rule continues to push the boundaries of action and accountability. Data shows that firms that remain committed and accountable to the Mansfield Certification process year after year are making substantial progress in creating inclusive talent practices and diversifying their leadership ranks. Achieving Mansfield Certification Plus status for seven years in a row is a clear demonstration of MoFo’s sustained commitment to putting our values into action.
“The Mansfield community is now a record 365+ firms strong. As a pioneering member of this community, we have much to be proud of, and I am confident that our achievements will inspire us to reach even greater heights in the future. We remain committed to taking measurable actions to ensure that our processes are—and remain—inclusive for all,” said MoFo’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Natalie Kernisant.
