The youngest son of NBA legend LeBron James has made his college choice.
Bryce James, a 3-star prospect who played for Sierra Canyon in California, committed to Arizona on New Year’s Day.
James, 6-foot-4, 190 pounds, is ranked as a top-50 shooting guard in the 2025 class and visited the Wildcats in November.
Arizona, a traditonal western power in college hoops, is coached by former Gonzaga assistant Tommy Lloyd. The Wildcats have won a Pac-12 regular season or tournament title in each of his first three seasons, but are 7-5 so far this season.
Bryce isn’t considered an elite prospect like his brother, Lakers guard Bronny James, but experts project him to have some shooting upside from deep.
He averaged 8.2 points and 2.4 rebounds a game for his Strive For Greatness club team on the Nike EYBL circuit, according to 247 Sports, and shot 38.5% from three for Sierra Canyon.
“Bryce James is the son of Lebron James and that means, like his older brother Bronny, he’s under the microscope,” 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein wrote. “Bryce needs to be given time and space to run his own race though. He may not be the dynamic athlete or playmaker some expect at first, but he is a fundamentally sound player with solid perimeter size and a good early skill-set.”
“He possesses clear shooting potential with naturally soft touch, compact release, and the ability to make both threes and pull-ups. His left hand is advanced for his age and he also has a good early understanding of the game. Physically, he has a solid build for an underclassman but is still just growing into his body a bit and so far from a finished product.”
James also had offers from his dad’s favorite school, Ohio State, and Duquesne, which is coached by his high school teammate Dru Joyce III.
