As the much-loved comedy drama Brassic makes its comeback for a sixth series, Michelle Keegan has opened up on her friendship with co-stars.

Michelle, who has been portraying Erin since 2019 says that the cast have evolved, with wild nights out now a thing of the past. "Bronagh Gallagher [Carol] performed with her band in the place where we film the pub scenes, the Star and Garter, which was epic, but we were quite tame," she confesses. "The first few seasons we did go out a bit more and we all lived in the same block, whereas now everyone's got their own lives. We're all grown up now."

Fans are in for a wild ride following the gang's audacious art heist from the previous season. On questions she's asked by fans, Michelle reveals that they're less intrigued by the group's zany escapades and more interested in the romantic tension between her character and Vinnie.

"The main one is about Vinnie and Erin, and when are they going to get together," Michelle shares with a chuckle. "I think because we've been teasing the audience for so long, and they've got a long history. Danny Brocklehurst [the show's co-creator and writer] does a good job of bringing the viewers' hopes up and then all of a sudden, they get dashed!"

Michelle also hints at significant developments for Erin this season. "The heists become bigger there's a lot more at stake," she explains. "There's a real emotional thread running through this series. There's a death, and it's too much for Erin. She's witnessed something horrific and that's going to change her. It's going to change the group."

The upcoming series promises even more outrageous scenarios, including encounters with a man-eating crocodile and a naked cult. For Michelle, filming has been as thrilling as ever, and her affection for Erin has only deepened. "I do love Erin," she says fondly. "Her journey in the show has been mad. She was running away from herself at the beginning, and we've seen her transition into, 'Actually, this is me, and I'm proud.' The growth in Erin is lovely to see."

Regarding what she hopes for Erin in series seven, if she survives series 6, Michelle shares: "It's a tough one. I don't think she'd move away. I don't think her heart is in that. I think she needs to be around her gang because that's also her family too. So I feel it'd be sad for her to move away on her own. I feel like her heart is with Vinnie and in Hawley with the rest of the group and I hope it all ends happily for her because she deserves it."
