Freely launched back in May and offers homes the ability to watch live and on-demand content without needing an aerial or dish stuck to the chimney. Just like Freeview it's totally free to view and just like Sky Glass the service comes fully built in to TVs so there's no need to have a separate set-top box or streamning dongle. Content is then beamed to the big screen using broadband. Freely even comes with recommendations of things to watch, a full guide, MiniGuide and the ability to pause live telly. Now there's more good news for those thinking about making the switch with Freely confirming that UKTV is finally being added to the channel list this month. UKTV, which is now simply known as U, offers access to popular services such as U&Dave, U&DRAMA, U&W and U&YESTERDAY. This update means Freely users will be able to tune into shows such as Top Gear, Would I Lie To You?, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Gavin and Stacy, Masterchef and Bangers & Cash. Everyone TV - the team behind Freely and who also run Freeview â has also just confirmed that there are now 70,000 hours of on-demand content available on the service and it can all be viewed for free. Speaking about the news Jonathan Thompson, CEO, Everyone TV, said: âFreely enables audiences to seamlessly browse and stream a vast library of high-quality content from the UKâs biggest broadcasters, all in one place, but with the added advantage that itâs the same trusted, relevant and reliable programming they have always known. "The new platform brings together local, originated programming that champions UK talent and UK stories. It gives viewers access to the best of British TV, with shows that reflect our nation, driving the national conversation and broadening the common investment that all audiences have in our society. âAt its heart, Freely is about championing access to British content for British audiences. This has only been possible through a major collaboration between the UKâs main public service broadcasters, who are committed to securing the future of free TV in the streaming age." If you fancy switching to Freely, there's now a swathe of TV manufacturers who integrate this service into their screens. These include Bush, Toshiba, Hisense and Panasonic.Top Stories Don't Miss FollowMirrorFacebookX (Twitter)Comment MORE ONGeorge W.
