After months of talk, the YouTuber-turned-boxer is about to take on the legendary heavyweight in front of 75,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. The fight is being streamed by Netflix, with Paul and Tyson sharing a $80million (£60m) pot, and has been criticised by many in the boxing world. Tyson is 58 years old, retired from professional boxing in 2005 and has not stepped into the ring for a bout since a bore draw against Roy Jones Jr in 2020. He was supposed to face Paul earlier in the year but was forced to pull out of the contest after being hospitalised by an ulcer flare up. KSI has fought Paulâs older brother Logan Paul twice and is convinced that the younger man and bookiesâ favourite will prevail on Friday night in Arlington. The YouTuber-turned-boxer tweeted: âJake Paul will knock out Mike Tyson. This will not be close at all. Boxing is a young man's game and Mike is 58 years old. They're sending a lamb to the slaughter and it's disgusting.â In October, KSI stated on his official YouTube channel : "I've seen parts of his training footage. He (Paul) just looks awful. He just looks so slow, so sluggish. This isn't his natural weight. It is what it is. I still think he's going to absolutely destroy Mike Tyson because Mike Tyson is old as f***." Others are not so convinced. Lennox Lewis beat Tyson in 2002 and believes the veteranâs experience and natural power will see him through. He told The Guardian: âIâm concerned for Jake Paul. Tyson still knows how to punch, as you can see when heâs hitting a bag. If Jake Paul gets hit by one of those punches, heâs going to feel it. I know Jake Paul doesnât want to get hit. âTyson comes forward and he knows how to cut off the ring. It could be a matter of time, as how good is Jake Paulâs defence? I saw Mike a couple of weeks ago and he looked good. He was walking around without a shirt and showing off his body so heâs getting ready.â While Paul has been lapping up the attention in the build-up to the fight, Tyson has taken a much more laid back approach. On Wednesday, he was reluctant to engage during his final press conference with Paul. âAre you talking to me? Yes, I am back. I am just happy to be here. I love you too,â Tyson said. âIâm just ready to fight. Iâve said everything I had to say, thereâs nothing else to say. Iâm just looking forward to fighting.â He added: âIâm not going to lose. I am not going to lose.
