Don't worry - a lifestyle guru has you covered with a simple trick which is sure to save you money and prolong the life of your favourite scent. Taking to TikTok, Dasha (@daria.shark) claims using Vaseline is the answer to your problems. "This hack will save you a lot of money," she penned in a caption, before detailing her method in a video. Dasha began by dropping two containers of the leading brand of petroleum jelly in a pan of boiling water and leaving them in there for two minutes. Next, she carefully removed the Vaseline from the pan and placed them in an empty bowl to cool. "Add your perfume and mix well," she advised before showcasing the same technique with her husband's fragrance. Dasha advised dabbing a different colour of nail polish on the two Vaseline tubs' lids to distinguish them from each other, before leaving them in the fridge for three hours. Closing, she suggested applying it to the hand to test it worked. Despite only having 48,000 followers, Dasha's clip has been viewed a staggering 27 million times. "Can you explain what the whole purpose of this is?" one person asked. "Is it for traveling airport? Whatâs the whole purpose of this not buying a whole new perfume?" Another person explained the convenience: "You can rub a little Vaseline wherever you want the scent to last and then spray that area, tad bit simpler." Elsewhere, others hailed the advice and admitted they were keen to try it out for themselves. "Ok I am definitely doing this!! Brilliant," a follower enthused. A second praised: "I tried this and really liked the result! Great hack!" A third penned: "Thanks for taking the time to share." And a fourth commented: "I never knew this trick. Thanks TikTok!" Not everyone was impressed, however, as one man cursed: "Seems like a lot of work for smearing a vague smell of your favourite fragrance and feeling that greasy coat on your wrist." And others slammed the boiling of plastic as "a very bad idea".
