Three Keys for the Broncos against the Falcons

Bo Nix should have a field day against this Falcons defense

There is talent in the Falcons secondary with A.J. Terell, Jessie Bates, and Justin Simmons, but they have struggled against the pass. Atlanta ranks 24th in pass yards allowed (223.4), 32nd in sacks (9), and 27th in pressures (66) the Broncos offensive line has played well throughout the season, and with Bo Nix being able to extend plays with his legs, there will be plenty of opportunities for the Broncos to take care of this poor Falcons pass defense.

The Broncos pass rush can dominate this game

The Broncos defense and their ability to create chaos has been their biggest strength. Their ability to play high-level man coverage and Vance Joseph calling creative blitzes has left most offenses this season scratching their head. Denver leads the NFL in team pressures with 213, and they’ll need to rely on that against a potent Falcons offense. Quarterback Kirk Cousins, when given time, has been really good, but at the age of 36, coming off an Achilles injury, he’s a statue in the pocket. Cousins will turn the ball over if you can get consistent pressure, which will be a key for the Broncos on Sunday.

Shake last Sunday off

We’ve seen with the Bears that heartbreaking losses can linger. The Commanders defeated the Bears on a Hail Mary and haven’t been right since. The Broncos can’t let last Sunday stay in their minds. Was it disappointing to lose that way to the Chiefs? Absolutely, but everything the Broncos want is still in front of them. Still sitting in the seventh seed in the AFC, the Broncos need to remain locked in and pull out winnable games such as this one against the Falcons.
