Welcome to the TUM School of Medicine and Health!
Knowledge creates healing and maintains health! This is the mission statement of the new TUM School of Medicine and Health. The TUM School combines excellent research on the fundamentals, personalized prevention and targeted diagnostics and therapy of human diseases and thus serves to improve the health of society. The disciplines of medicine and health and sports sciences are integrated into the following three structurally oriented departments:
The interfaces between the Departments are served by six overarching research centers: the Center for Cancer Medicine, the Center for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health, the Center for Digital Health and Technology, the Center for Health and Medicine in Society, the Center for Infection, Immunity and Environmental Health and the Center for Neuroscience.
The two medical Departments with their University Hospital are among the strongest medical research locations in Germany. Medicine is one of the four central fields of work that give TUM a unique position and are of considerable importance for its future development. Thanks in particular to excellent researchers and doctors, cutting-edge medicine is practiced here every day thanks to cooperation with renowned institutions in the Munich metropolitan region, Germany and the world. This is consistently reflected in top marks in national and international university rankings.
The Department of Health and Sport Sciences offers a broad, interdisciplinary scientific portfolio and covers a wide spectrum under the leitmotif of "prevention". In addition to innovative cutting-edge research - on topics relating to health and prevention across the lifespan, competitive and popular sport as well as the school environment - this includes the implementation of research findings in society, competitive sport and the training of future teachers in sport across all school types.
