Mes intérêts de recherche incluent la commodification, les approches post-humanistes des relations animaux-humains, ainsi que les liens entre le droit et la culture populaire. Je travaille présentement à l’analyse des manières dont nous nous gouvernons, et à nos obligations les uns envers les autres, en faisant référence aux normes légales qui prennent leurs sources dans la culture populaire plutôt qu’au sein de l’état politique. Je met l’emphase sur la dystopie critique, plus particulièrement sur le genre bio-punk, afin d’explorer une compréhension discursive du droit comme savoir plutôt que comme un ensemble de règles réifiées. Sous cet angle, le droit est compris comme une aspiration normative, une « alternité », pour utiliser le terme de Cover, qui nous transporte du monde-tel-qu’il-est au monde-tel-qu’il-devrait-être. « Jouer » avec la culture populaire n’est pas qu’une affaire de divertissement. Lorsque nous utilisons la narration fictive pour explorer les possibilités qui s’ouvrent à nous, nous jouons de façon sérieuse.
