But before going on to details, Cone made it clear that he doesn't consider the 36-year-old Pringle as a mere \"bench player.\"<\/p>\r\r
\"He's a starter coming off the bench, that's the way we see him and feel him,\" Cone said, in describing the Filipino-American guard's value to the Gin Kings.<\/p>\r\r
Slowed down by an assortment of injuries in recent years, Cone said Pringle is playing on restricted minutes to ensure he could get his old, explosive self back in time.<\/p>\r\r
\"We just try to keep his minutes at a certain level as he continues building his body back,\" shared the 65-year-old Cone. \"We don't want to be in a situation where we overplay him<\/p>\r\r
but we try to get the best out of him.\"<\/p>\r\r
And thus far, Pringle didn't disappoint.<\/p>\r\r
With Ginebra playing minus Tenorio, who is still recovering from stage 3 colon cancer, Pringle rose to the occasion in his 23-minute exposure on Easter Sunday. The former Penn State star contributed 11 points, spiking his game with three-of-three shooting from beyond the arc in Ginebra's 102-90 win against TNT to grab the early lead in their 2022-23 PBA Governors' Cup best-of-seven title series.<\/p>\r\r
Cone said Pringle's shooting comes in handy, especially when TNT opted to play zone defense at one point.<\/p>\r\r
\"When they (Tropang Giga) went to zone, he stepped up (making) big shots and made big plays. That's the Stanley we've all known from the past and he's slowly but surely getting back to that level,\" shared Cone. \"Having him coming off the bench is an incredible luxury.\"<\/p>\r\r
\"But we are still very careful with Stanley because he's such a great player we don't want to break him down.\"<\/p>\r\r
