Meet Amanda Kezios the founder of Wicker Park-based small business Mojo Spa in Chicago. Like many others, Amanda hasn’t always felt comfortable walking up to the beauty counter, which is why she refers to Mojo Spa as “The Feel Good Beauty Co.” She explained, “When you feel good, you look good.” This woman-owned beauty brand has been around since 2003. Today, Amanda and her team offer more than 200 plant-based beauty products, all handmade in small batches using natural ingredients, fresh fruits and vegetables, and herbal infusions. Their products include everything from skincare—including their best seller Make Me a Morning Person face and body scrub—to candles that melt into a luxurious body cream. All products are developed, manufactured, and tested locally in Chicago using Amanda’s original recipes. Selling with Amazon helped Amanda share her thoughtfully crafted products with customers across the nation, and leveraging Amazon for delivery has allowed her team to focus on making more award-winning products. So, what's next? The Mojo Spa team plans to go global. For more on Amanda’s journey with Mojo Spa, go to https://lnkd.in/g22V__DP #SupportSmallWithAmazon

We're celebrating National Veterans and Military Families Month by spotlighting Amazon employee Abby Malchow, a third-generation veteran with a passion for supporting veteran-owned small businesses. Abby is a combat veteran who also supported various humanitarian missions globally, and retired as a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy after 20+ years of service. Abby initially joined Amazon's Global Military Affairs team and was given the charter to create a program to help military veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs succeed. Over the last six years, she has continued to support veteran and military-owned businesses in various capacities and led Amazon's partnership and investment in the Institute for Veteran and Military Families. To Abby, our veteran employee and seller community and their families, we salute you for your service!

When Cece Meadows, a budding makeup artist, didn’t see her Chicana and Indigenous culture accurately portrayed in the beauty space, she decided to create Prados Beauty, LLC. Cece did this to pay homage to her culture by showcasing the beautiful and unique beauty of Native American and Indigenous people. Prados Beauty started in her daughter’s nursery in 2019, and now has its products in over 600 stores nationwide, as well as a thriving Amazon store. As we celebrate #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth, Cece shares that it’s truly an honor to be able to amplify the contributions of Indigenous and Native American cultures to beauty through her business.
