Unfortunately, at AnythingLLM we just cannot build every AI agent that you may ever want or need. So instead, we opened it up to everyone and it's more powerful than you realize 🤯. As of AnythingLLM v1.6.6 anyone can extend AnythingLLMs embedded agent framework to do...well anything! Seriously. Call and API, text your mom, change system preferences, sending an email. All using local models and remain fully offline capable. The best part is no frustrating Python version dependencies, virtualenv, or conda install. All skills are just NodeJS and fully modular. If you can write it in NodeJS, you can do it in AnythingLLM. Here is a demo of a 30-line script that updates my operating system's (MacOS) theme preference. We will have a community hub soon to publish or share any custom skills you might want to share with others too. Worth mentioning that while you may need to know some code to make skills today, that won't be the case in the future for all those who wish to make plugins with no code. 🙌 As models get better, AnythingLLM only gets more powerful. This now means you can scrape & embed content directly into your private AnythingLLM instance running on your device or on the cloud 🤯. This includes scraping & embedding paywalled or authenticated content and adding that directly into your AnythingLLM knowledge bases in a click with full end-to-end privacy. A very exciting update coming to AnythingLLM self-hosted and Desktop. Very soon AI will do everything you want, fully locally, with less headaches and code. In addition to this, we will be publishing documentation, a community hub where you can share and install plugins without writing any code, and a no-code plugin builder for those who want something custom, but don't want to write any custom code. No Python installs, no crazy complex frameworks, just enabling AI to make your life easier all in one package.
