Driver of stolen car arrested in Davis hospital parking lot; less than lethal munitions used
A person suspected of driving a stolen car was arrested in the parking lot of a hospital in Davis Monday after law enforcement fired less than lethal munitions, police said. Davis police said the California Highway Patrol told them at 10:15 a.m. that they were chasing the suspect and the driver had entered Davis city limits. The pursuit ended in the parking lot of Sutter Davis Hospital but the driver refused to leave the vehicle, police said. The less-than-lethal munitions, which sound like a gunshot, were then used by CHP. The suspect was then arrested. The hospital was put on lockdown during the incident. Davis police said they did not assist in the arrest other than by blocking traffic. KCRA 3 is reaching out to CHP to learn more about what happened and the suspect’s condition.
