Pros (+)Â There are very few affordable places in Basel. We chose this hotel because of the price. We were travelling with another couple and were given rooms with an adjoining balcony and an interesting vista. The hotel is very old and in need of refurbishment but was large (for Europe) and had a bar fridge and a decent breakfast. The staff was extremely helpful.
Cons (-)Â Our room was on the 4th floor but the elevator stops at the 3rd, so we had to drag our large luggage up the last stairwell. Thankfully, the weather turned cool the day we checked in. Our room was blistering hot, but cooled off to a reasonable temperature with the balcony doors open and the rain falling.
