After making his rounds across the globe, Santa paused briefly in Wharton County this morning before making his way back to the North Pole.
âChildren always ask me if Iâm real,â he said, âI tell them Iâm real if they want me to be,â he said, adding he hoped they did after the thousands of presents he left in the homes of good little (and big) boys and girls in El Campo, Wharton, East Bernard and all the other communities in Wharton County.
Plus, he said, the Christmas delivery was actually his sixth visit to Wharton County this year. âDidnât you see me at the parades in Boling, East Bernard, El Campo and Wharton? And, I was in El Campo just a week ago to finish out my shopping list,â he said.
âI sure enjoyed the lights people used to decorate their homes,â Santa said. âThey look real good flying over.â
Santa then leaned back and took a sip from his mug of cocoa, munched just one more cookie and sighed. âI sure hope everyone enjoyed their gifts, or at least the love behind them.
The Wharton County Leader-Journal joins Santa in wishing all the Merriest of Christmases and the happiest of holidays.
