Camden Town WFC will again call Wingate & Finchley’s Maurice Rebak Stadium home this season

THE opening round of fixtures in the Premier Division of the Greater London Women’s League has pitched up a real doozy, with Islington Borough set to welcome Camden Town to their home turf.

The highly anticipated derby day will take place at St Aloysius Playing Fields in Hornsey on Sunday, September 3, at 2pm. When the two sides met at the same ground back in December the match ended in a 4-1 win to the home team, but Camden will be hoping that they can close the gap on their neighbouring rivals this time around in what will be only their second season in the top flight.

Expressing “great excitement” at the club returning for pre-season, Town chairman Richard Mahoney said: “We have already secured the signatures of some exciting new players, as well as promoting a number of our Under-18s into our first-team environment.

“We can’t wait to see how everything starts to materialise over the coming weeks ahead of the new season.”
