The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to announce the release of the Spanish translation of the publication: E-commerce Guide: A guide to managing the pest risk posed by goods ordered online and distributed through postal and courier pathways.
The comprehensive guide addresses some of the key challenges that national plant protection organizations (NPPOs) face in managing the pest risks associated with e-commerce trade. It offers practical guidance for enhancing cooperation and collaboration with key stakeholders involved in e-commerce supply chains.
The guide offers insights into pre-border and border activities, including risk-based phytosanitary inspection by NPPOs to mitigate pest risk on postal and courier pathways, how to identify and respond to non-compliance, and monitoring regulated articles moving on postal and courier pathways in order to respond to new technologies and trends.
The IPPC Secretariat thanks the Comité de Sanidad Vegetal del Cono Sur (COSAVE) for providing in-kind support in translating this guide.
