Much better if the whole chair is the same colourJimI like the chair except the brown strip in the middle of sitting plate. It would have given 5 stars if the chair is of the same color.4

Sturdy Chair SharonOverall, a solid purchase. I picked these chairs up to go with an old IKEA pine table that is in my kitchen. The chairs are solid, nothing rickety, and have a comfortable seat. Assembly was a breeze but PAY ATTENTION to screwing in the screws. You must partially insert the screws and then go back to tighten. After the first chair, I found it best to partially insert, then tighten in the same sequence, then tighten again. The only tool needed is the Allen Wrench/ Hex Key that comes in the box. 5

Solid, comfortable, dip in quality from previous modelsMichaelI happen to have a very old set of the very first of this line of chair to compare with the modern one. The current Lisabo chairs are solid so sit upon, comfortable and attractive to look at. They were extremely straightforward to assemble. But I have to remove one star because the quality of the crafts-robot-ship that assembled the pre-joined back/leg supports is shoddy. It works, but it looks extremely amateurish. Furthermore, the underside of the seat has 5 biscuit wafers that receive the screws through the legs - there are splinters on all 6 of my chairs from the manufacturing process. Not really what I was hoping for, and with a little one crawling all over the place, I had to sand them down myself. That's sadly similar to the by-gone originals.4

Bolts need tightening every few monthsStanislavThe chairs are nice-looking and comfortable, BUT as it turned out, all the bolts tend to gradually come loose and need tightening every few months. I am long-time user of IKEA furniture, and never had this problem with any other products (which I've had dozens). If the problem is overlooked long enough, I can imagine after couple years of usage the chair can suddenly fall apart, and the user may be seriously injured. In my opinion, this is a strong case not just for a design improvement, but perhaps also for a safety recall.2

These chairs are comfortable and easy to put together. I now have four in my kitchen and six in my dining room. They look great. I particularly like the low profile.

Surprisingly light to bring home myself & easy to put together. I bought two and it goes really well with my Lisabo round table situated in a small breakfast area in my apartment. I added some cushions tops for comfort.

Material

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet fixed on things like particleboards to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak and beech and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.

"The idea behind LISABO was to create a series with the distinct feeling of wood, a floating expression and durable, easy to assemble construction. We chose a matt lacquer on the ash veneer so the furniture will keep its natural wood feel. The special technique we use allows the tables to be produced without support rails and with slanted edges that give it a handcrafted look. The furniture can be used in different ways and the pieces work great together or individually."
