Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (this “Policy”) describes prohibited uses of Honeycomb’s web services and the website located at https://www.honeycomb.io/ (“Site”; collectively with the web services, “Services”). The examples described in this Policy are not exhaustive. We may modify this Policy at any time by posting a revised version on the Site. By using the Services, you agree to the latest version of this Policy. If you violate the Policy or authorize or help others to do so, we may suspend or terminate your use of the Services.
No Illegal, Offensive, Infringing, or Harmful Use or Content
You may not use, or encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to use, the Services for any illegal, harmful, fraudulent, infringing or offensive use, or to transmit, store, display, distribute or otherwise make available content that is illegal, harmful, fraudulent, infringing or offensive. Prohibited activities or content include:
- use the Services in any unlawful manner, for any unlawful purpose, or in any manner inconsistent with the Honeycomb Terms of Service or applicable documentation;
- Post or transmit abusive messages, defamatory, libelous, false or misleading statements;
- Promote, encourage, or facilitate hate speech, violence, or discrimination based on race, color, sexual orientation, marital status, gender or identity expression, parental status, religion or creed, national origin or ancestry, sex, age, physical or mental disability, veteran status, genetic information, citizenship or any other characteristic protected by law;
- Mislead people about voting processes or census processes;
- download any content posted by another user that you know, or reasonably should know, cannot be legally distributed in such manner;
- use the Services to violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others; or sell, resell, license, sublicense, distribute, rent or lease the Services, whether for a fee or not;
- upload, post, transmit or otherwise make available through the Services any content that infringes any patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret or other proprietary right of any party, unless you are the owner of such rights or have necessary license, right or permission;
- copy the Services in whole or in part;
- access the Services in order to build a competitive product or service;
- reverse engineer any part of the Services; or
- transmit a virus to, overload, flood, spam, or paralyze the Services or take any action or inaction which interferes with the integrity of the Services;
No Security Violation
You may not use the Services to violate the security or integrity of any network, computer or communications system, software application, or network or computing device. Prohibited activities include:
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or its related systems or networks;
- exploit the Services to access confidential information of any other person;
- impersonate another person (via the use of an email address or otherwise) or otherwise misrepresent yourself or the source of any content; or
- submit content that falsely expresses or implies that such content is sponsored or endorsed by us;
No Network Abuse
You may not make network connections to any users, hosts, or networks unless you have permission to communicate with them. Prohibited activities include:
- Access any part of the Service, or any content or data therein, through any technology or means other than those provided or authorized by Honeycomb (including without limitation through technologies such as automated or non-automated “scraping,” “robots,” “spiders,” “offline readers,” or any system that sends more request messages to the Honeycomb servers than a human can reasonably produce in the same period of time); or
- Interfere with the normal functioning, integrity or operation of the Service;
Reporting of Violations of this Policy
