Jump into your home improvement job with confidence and the correct tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Shreveport fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the items you don't have at home. You can rent a tool and return it when you've completed the project. If it turns out the rental tools would be more useful than you thought, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Air Compressors
Pneumatic tools, like roofing nailers and other construction nailers, are powered by an air compressor. Renting an air compressor means you get the right tools for the job but avoid storing them in your toolbox. Choose from a gas or electric air compressor in the size that fits your project. An inflator, cousin to the air compressor, is also excellent for quick tire inflation or blowing up large holiday inflatables.
Generators
Complete those big projects by renting a generator to have electricity where you need it. Run basic electrical appliances at home after a storm knocks out power or enjoy electricity while working out in the field. If you're in the market for a generator, rent one first to see what you like.
Load 'N Go Trucks
If you're looking to rent a large tool but don't have a way to get it home, let us help with that, too. Check out our Load 'N Go rental vehicles and rent a truck. Stop taking up driveway space with an old truck for the rare occasion of hauling items. Just rent what you need when you need it and keep your driveway open for hopscotch, grilling, or a round of hoops.

How do I rent a moving truck or tool?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You can also read our truck rental or tool rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more info on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before you decide on a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
