The Home Depot Rental Center at La Place

Jump into your next home improvement job with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in La Place fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have at home. You can rent a tool and bring it back after you're done. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, we have used tools available for purchase. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.

Air Compressors
Pneumatic tools, like framing nailers and other construction nailers, are powered by an air compressor. Renting an air compressor means you save space in your garage while getting the best tools for the job. Choose from an electric or gas air compressor in the size that suits your project. An inflator, cousin to the air compressor, is also excellent for tire inflation or blowing up large holiday inflatables.

Generators
Whether you're running a large welding machine or working in a remote location, you'll probably need to rent a generator. Generators also run basic electrical appliances during a power outage. Make life easier during fieldwork or after extreme weather knocks out power to your home.

Load 'N Go Trucks
If you're renting a large tool but don't have room in your vehicle, we can help with that, too. Check out our Load 'N Go rental vehicles and rent a truck. Don't worry about taking up driveway space with an old pickup truck for the rare occasion of hauling items. Just rent a moving truck and keep your driveway open for hopscotch, grilling, or a round of hoops.

To get transportation and tools for your moving or DIY project, check out The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center in La Place. Renting the right tools for the job is important, so let us help. We're here to help you get your DIY project done.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent trucks or tools?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You might also check out our truck rental or tool rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more details on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent a tool for a week?

Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing a van.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
