BOTHELL — A man died after crashing into a tree near I-405 in Bothell on Friday night, troopers said.
Just after 9:20 p.m., Clayton McAuliffe, 28, was driving a Nissan 240SX north on I-405 near milepost 28, according to the Washington State Patrol. The Lake Roesiger man drove off the road and into a tree before the Nissan came to rest on the right shoulder of the highway.
McAuliffe died at the scene.
The circumstances leading up to the crash were unclear. Troopers were investigating Saturday.
