Nine Favorite Things
And just like that, itâs fallâat least back home in the mountains of Colorado it is. Iâm in New York, and itâs not fall here just yet, but when I took off on Thursday, fall had officially set in. The temps were in the 40s, the clouds low and moody, and the leaves on the verge of turning bright shades of yellow, orange, and red.
I know it seems early, but in the mountains, fall begins to settle in the first week of September – and it goes by fast. A sunny September day is the prettiest time to be in Colorado!
Iâll be home a bit this week and will try to soak it all up before Iâm off again. I’ll be returning to New York for something so fun and exciting! I canât wait to share it soon, but I think you guys will love it!! As of this week, our busy end of the year is officially kicking off. Itâs scary because the holidays will come upon us so fast, but Iâm happy and excited for them. The business of it all is a mix of overwhelming thoughts and pure motivation and excitement!
Speaking of new launches, this is just a reminder that we only have a few meals left on our Home Chef menu! This year’s recipes are even better than last year’s, with additions like my Queso Beef Chili and Coconut-Lime Fried Shrimp! Plus, a couple of favorites from last year: Dadâs Crispy Chipotle Beef Tacos and our Spicy Roasted Red Pepper Pizza! You can use my link and the promo code HBH to get 18 Free Meals + Free Shipping too!
And then, if you havenât already, you have to order the Pumpkin Smash Candle before it officially sells out. The big 4-wick 50 oz candle is already gone! Pumpkin season is here!
Letâs see what else! Hmm, I was excited to see everyoneâs excitement for our upcoming book tour. We’ll be announcing those dates soon!
And my family updates! Half of my family is in Spain for the remainder of the month! Theyâre loving exploring and really enjoying all the beautiful architecture, food, and culture. So glad they’re able to have this time to travel ahead of our busy fall season! My mom thinks I would love Spain!
Aside from that, all the usual things are happening. I spent most of last week working on upcoming fall recipes – you all, we’ve got some good dishes coming! The fall season is when I do my best work, I love it!
Ok! I think thatâs all for now. Thank you, guys, for reading these Favorite posts and keeping up with our work and life updates! I think itâs these posts that really allow us to connect!
Have a wonderful September Sunday!
lovingâ¦Zara Home. As always, they have the most underrated home department. They’re my best kept secret for unique, affordable pieces for the home. Ordering this glazed stoneware coffee cup and matching pitcher, their beautiful wood salad bowl, these glass tumblers for upcoming holiday cocktails/mocktails, and the most adorable honey jar. And I can’t wait for their holiday collection to arrive!
wantingâ¦cozy cashmere socks. This may seem silly, but cozy socks really make me feel at home, especially while traveling. My favorite pairs are from Guest In Residence. They just launched new colors for fall!
travel… . My favorite time of year for East Coast travel. On my list are the Berkshires, Massachusetts, Salem, Woodstock, Vermont, and of course, nothing beats fall in New York.
Everything in my cart (low)⦠I love the wool blend cardigan from & Other Stories; it’s so cozy for fall. Also cozy for fall are cinched-in-the-waste blazers. I’m very into this cinched blazer from Source Unknown.
Another fall trend – boho. I love this lace top from Free People. Oh, and speaking of Free People, I want their faux suede jacket too. And their faux leather jacket is cute as well! On the cozier side, they have these waffle stitch cardigan and pants, and I personally want this half-zip pullover.
Lastly, this maxi dress on Revolve is super cute. The burgundy color is very on trend for fall 2024.

I’m much better on body care. While I use lotions and creams daily, I need to use body serums more consistently. I use and love the Nécessaire The Body Vitamin C – Radiance Serum With THD Ascorbate. And in the past I’ve used the Tata Harper resurfacing serum and MUTHA body contour serum. All are amazing!

Itâs almost here! Introducing our latest candle with Snif, Apple Cider Smash, launching on Friday, 9/13 ð
This is September in a candle to me – itâs crisp and fresh while still being so cozy and warm. We blended the most delicious combination of sparkling cider, honeycrisp apple, and warm cinnamon doughnut. Honestly you guys, this might be our best scent yet. Capturing this campaign at an apple orchard in upstate NY was one of my favorite days. I am so proud of how it has all come together.
In one week, Apple Cider Smash will finally be YOURS! Join the waitlist for early access. I can’t wait for this candle to bring the same nostalgia and joy to your home as it has to mine ð
Suede for fall is a new obsession of mine. I’m styling it with suede bags, skirts, and jackets. I think it’s so cute. And timeless.
Cozy knits for the home. Loving all the big, cozy throw blankets I’m seeing everywhere.
In the kitchen, everything copper. I just got this tray and thought I might just have to style my Thanksgiving turkey on it and/or use it for a big cheese board for the entertaining season. Either way, I love copper in the kitchen this time of year. It’s just cozier.
September apples! Save the pumpkin for October and embrace the September apple season with apple-scented candles in the home. I’m looking forward to sharing a lot of new apple recipes this month, but I’m currently mixing up my cinnamon apple smash and Hocus Pocus old-fashioned cocktails. I’m also baking up my baked apple cider doughnuts. And, a new HBH harvest salad is coming your way very soon. It’s been on repeat in my kitchen lately!

Tieghan what is happening with your blog and recipes? Lately they are nothing but typos, mistakes in the recipe, missing ingredients, and generally a hot mess. Typos aren’t quirky or cute, they are totally unprofessional and you are obviously doing this on purpose because otherwise spellcheck would alert you to spelling mistakes. Why do you have flat lays that say “pretend this is chicken” when it is obviously beef, or “ignore this” on a cup of chocolate chips? And when a reader is confused about a step or an ingredient or a technique, you blame your fans when something is obviously incorrect with the recipe, saying “Oh no what did you do differently?” Maybe it’s time for you to finally hang up your apron and move on to being the fashionista you obviously aspire to be. Because cooking good food doesn’t seem to be a priority of yours anymore.
The hubs and I are doing a sugar-free September, but I am DEFINITELY going to have to make one of the apple bakes in October! They’ll be great for munching during football Sunday! OH, and LOVE the yellow dress in the Apple Cider Smash shot. Gorgeous! Ordered my candle just a few minutes ago. Can’t wait!
Dear Tieghan, Thank you for generously sharing your lovely website. I love living vicariously as you travel and share your experiences. Thanks for many good meals my family and I have shared. I have two of your cookbooks but also love that I can download a recipe or two at no cost, which is, again, so generous. Wishing you and yours every good thing.
Hi Deb,
Thank you so much for your kind message and being here:) I am so glad you enjoy the content that I share as well as the recipes! Hope you are having a great week! xT
Please try Meadowsweet restaurant in Williamsburg- you will not be disappointed.
Thanks so much for your suggestion, Dee!!
Two questions: 1 – What are the apple bars below the cider braised pot roast? It doesn’t have a label. 2 – What apple butter do you recommend?
I can’t wait to make the honeycrisp apple salad again – it’s a favorite in my house!
Thanks so much, Amy!! Here is the recipe:

I actually like to make my own apple butter:

Have a great week! xT
You look simply stunning in that yellow dress!
Thank you so much, Sue:) Have the best week! x
Aside from restaurants, what are your top 5 recommendations of fun things to do in New York, that youâve experienced yourself? Iâve been several times, but would love to hear your recommendations since youâre a frequent visitor, and Iâm heading back in November. Thanks!
Woo Hoo! Less than a week until your new candle comes out – SO excited for it!
You really knocked it out of the park with the content this week – every, single recipe looks incredible! I love apple-centric everything in September and I segue into pumpkin-centric everything in October & November. I’m already planning a birthday dinner for my sister with the Cider Braised Pot Roast w/Sage Butter Potatoes, Autumn Harvest Honeycrisp & Feta Salad and Ginger Apple Moscow Mules.
One question though… The recipe between the Cider Braised Pot Roast and the Apple Cider Donut Holes – it looks like a snacking cake with melted butter or cream cheese or something on it. It isn’t titled and I can’t open it. Is it just me or a glitch? It, too, is calling my name. ð
Have a great week, Tieghan!
It’s Brown Butter Apple Blondies, https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/brown-butter-apple-blondies/
I think the Brown Butter Apple Blondies are different – they look fantastic, but this looks more like a cake and doesn’t have the drizzle of frosting that the Blondies do. I appreciate the help though…
Hey Nancie,
Thank you for your kind message and excitement for the candle! So glad you loved the content this week, it really was the perfect fall list:) I hope you love all of the recipes that you make!
Ahh, sorry about that, here is the link for the recipe:

I hope you love the recipe! xT
Hi Tiegan! Such a coincidence, but I am in Spain right now and staying at Hotel Alfonso ⦠and recognized (from blog pics) your dad, sister and brother at breakfast this morning! Hope they are enjoying their trip as much as we are!
Hey Stacey,
Lol that is too funny, what a small world! I hope you are enjoying your time there! Feel free to say hi to them, they will love that:) Happy Sunday! xT
Long time reader – enjoy many of your recipes, mostly from 2020-2021. Teighan, I wish you so much happiness and good health (the kind that comes from eating well, enjoying foods and not living on hot water and supplements). I also wish for you to find people in your life that are good to you and not just after your “followers” on Instagram. You dream of clothes and travels and that seems to be the basis of most of your NFT nowadays…..I hope you can fulfill your dreams and on your terms. Take care of yourself.
Thanks for your encouragement, Bonnie! I hope you are having a great Sunday! xT
Thank you posting such fun information! I love and look forward to reading Nine Favorite Things every Sunday morning!
