It is nice to know that we can go a little deeper into the rotation and have guys step up. Issac Ortiz and Gabe LeTexier had great games and helped get us over the hump for the win. We head into the Christmas break 5-3 and have been without Parker Erickson, and we hope to get him back for the rest of the year and keep moving forward as a team."

GFC coach Brady Terrill said: "We had a good day in Valley City. We had five individual champions, multiple tournament placers and took first place overall as a team. This was a great effort from our girls going into the winter break. One big highlight would be Shayla DeBlaere bumping up a couple weight classes to wrestle a really tough girl from Valley City, and she was able to pull away in the third period. Both Sky Kopp and Kyah Wiley met in the finals for the 190 lbs. title, who both have developed into top tier wrestlers. We are a little banged up but with the little break coming up, it'll be nice to recover and prepare for the rest of the season."
