Here’s What Everyone Wore to Tyler, the Creator’s MSG Concert

Not many rappers inspire cosplay at their concerts. At Tyler the Creator’s first-ever headlining show at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night, despite a stubborn rain, dozens of fans showed up in the platinum wigs and pastel suits of Tyler’s alter ego, Igor. Countless more wore Igor merch, pieces from Tyler’s Golf Wang line, Odd Future ephemera, or pairs of his collaborative Converse sneakers. (Or all of the above.) And everyone else seemed to be aping the neo-prep skater aesthetic he’s been cultivating since he first wore a Supreme snapback. Could Golf-core give Deadhead style a run for its money as the dominant subcultural trend of the moment? We sent GQ’s real style correspondent Mordechai Rubinstein (AKA Mister Mort) to the Garden to find out. And unbeknownst to most of the Tyler fans he photographed throughout the night, Rubinstein was shooting on a new iPhone 11 Pro Max. (OK, so the triple-lensed camera was kind of a giveaway, but still.) Here, we present some of the first photos ever taken with the iPhone 11’s insanely advanced camera. As you can see, when the phone drops later this week, we might be entering a whole new era of fit pics. Make sure you dress accordingly.
