Retail Services

Careers Goodwill Retail

Goodwill of the Heartland operates 19 retail locations and an eCommerce department. This includes 18 traditional Goodwill Stores that stock a variety of donated as well as new goods, and a Goodwill Outlet Store that offers bin store purchasing by weight and select larger items. The eCommerce department assesses, promotes and ships a variety of goods worldwide.

Throughout our retail operations we provide opportunities ranging from entry-level work to local, regional and executive management - often hiring and promoting from within our own ranks.

Revenue generated by Retail Services provides programs and services in the local community such as no-cost skills assessment, job training and professional certifications. Retail services also plays a vital role in our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility by helping transform donated goods into life-changing opportunities.

Careers Goodwill Support

Support Services team members are the glue that holds our nonprofit together. These are our front office workers, project managers, facility experts, accountants, technology gurus, logistic specialists, analysts, marketers and executive team members who serve the greater good from within.

With so much infrastructure, Goodwill of the Heartland requires a multitude of skillsets to remain relevant and efficient. We need people to answer the phone, make sure the trucks arrive on time, crunch numbers, promote our brand and support our teams.

Careers Goodwill Mission

Mission Services at Goodwill of the Heartland provides numerous opportunities for team members to make a difference in the lives of others. From one-on-one job coaching to specialized assistance for military veterans, from working with adults with significant disabilities to helping entrepreneurs prepare for the next big thing, careers in Mission Services are as varied as the people we serve.

Goodwill of the Heartland boasts a 19-county service area that includes six career and support service facilities as well as eight Helms Career Centers. Team members offer vital support and assistance to people from all walks of life, including those challenged by disadvantages and disabilities. Through your assistance, those you serve will be empowered to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.

Manufacturing & Contracted Services

Careers Goodwill HGE

Goodwill of the Heartland developed a separate entity, Heartland Goodwill Enterprises, to provide services on a contract basis to various government agencies. These team members care for private and government-run facilities as well as help federal partners meet their obligations to other nations.

As part of the federal AbilityOne program, Heartland Goodwill Enterprises employs a number of people with significant disabilities to package nutrient-rich oil in our Coralville-based manufacturing plant. Other team members work within facilities that have contracted for janitorial and grounds maintenance services.
