mkrzy, great job on your headboard. I wish I were so handy. I like the white; you can always recover it with something else later. bebe, the bed is from a company called Fine Furniture. Their website is www.FFDM.com. We ordered ours from Boyles furniture in Mocksville, NC. The whole collection is beautiful and on sale right now. meg, I'm no expert on this but the leather would seem the most durable. You could always buy a piece of the microfiber and test it out. I'm just throwing caution to the wind with the fabric on mine but i do have three huge pillows that will probably always be there; we keep them in back of our sleeping pillows at night. Good News, the bed I ordered is actually in the warehouse!!!

I've linked below my favourite bedroom set from a pine & oak shop near us - we purchased new livingroom furniture from them this past spring and plan on buying the bedroom set from them in a year or two (need to save some money first!). I like the first one because of its graceful lines. The second one seems over powering and the third a little unusual looking. We have a tufted one and haven't had a problem with staining but we don't use much on our hair and I've never noticed that our heads go up that far anyway. We do have a cat but after one try of scratching we firmly told her no and she hasn't done it since. I would look around on the internet a bit more before making a decision; there are so many sources our there. We got the one we wanted rather inexpensively and it's the perfect style, color and size for us. Please ignore the ugly chest and funky ivy over the window. This was in 2009, the chest and ivy are gone and we've added pale gold floor length curtains that are on the French door over the bed to control the light.

With seven million headboards online, why not get the right size? Otherwise a bargain it is NOT. If you want the bargain? A better install is to bolt the headboard legs to the WALL ( find the studs ) and shove the frame and its mattress up TO the headboard. To get flush to the wall? Cut away the base molding, and note if the headboard is open enough below, to allow access to any electrical outlets. Or....... screw a 1 x 4 cut to length to the back of the headboard, and drill and do that just below your mattress height. I do this for any custom upholstered headboards. They ALL shake unless bolted to the wall. Fame legs aren't enough, especially a standard metal "hollywood" type frame.
