bedroom bench for king size bed

I like the style of the Madison Park Welburn Accent Bench, however, I'm concerned that the measurements would be to small. Everything that I have read states that bedroom bench should be at least 60" wide for king size bed. The Welburn Accent Bench measurements: 49.5"W x 19.25"D x 23"H.

    A king bed is 78” wide. You will have 14” of space in front of the bed on each side that is not occupied by bench. If you had a 60” bench, there would only be 9” on each side. If the 5” difference doesn’t matter to you, then it shouldn’t matter to anyone else.
