Überblick

Appleton Area School District (AASD) is the sixth-largest school district in Wisconsin, catering to over 16,000 students across 37 schools. From a cybersecurity perspective, the district’s priority is securing the sensitive data of both staff and students.

Appleton Area School District Drastically Reduces Security Incidents

With email the most common vector for bad actors targeting AASD, the district implemented an on-premises FortiMail email security solution to protect over 16,000 student and 2,500 staff email accounts, reducing email security incidents by approximately 95% in the process. Meanwhile, AASD has implemented FortiEDR endpoint detection and response to improve endpoint management and surface easy-to-access insights on devices. Having also deployed secure unified communications from Fortinet, the district has been able to dramatically improve its security posture and increase visibility of potential threats.
