The Village of Schaumburg is a thriving economic center that houses more businesses than any other Illinois community except Chicago. High-performance networking and security is critical to delivering services to residents and businesses. However, the village’s systems were failing to deliver as required. Concerned about the impact a successful cyberattack could have on services and public utilities, the village decided to act.
Schaumburg now runs its networking and security infrastructure on the Fortinet Security Fabric. Its solution includes secure networking via FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), FortiSwitch enterprise switches, and FortiGuard AI-Powered Security Services. Protecting the network edge across 26 locations, the solution also delivers network segmentation and the ability to rapidly detect and respond to threats. Meanwhile, Fortinet security operations (SecOps) capabilities enable Schaumburg to identify and troubleshoot potential security issues. The village also uses Fortinet solutions for endpoint detection and response across 1,000 devices, while leveraging the FortiClient Enterprise Management Server (EMS) for zero-trust network access. Currently deploying additional Fortinet SecOps and OT solutions, Schaumburg today benefits from an integrated, cost-effective infrastructure that simplifies its operations and greatly enhances its security posture.
