Ari Miller

Ari Miller is the chef-owner of the acclaimed Philadelphia restaurant Musi BYOB. His ever-changing seasonal Israeli-inspired menu revolves around Ari's culinary philosophy of building relationships between producers, purveyors, cooks, servers, and guests. Musi BYOB was named one of Eater's 16 Best Restaurants in America in 2019.

Experience

Ari Miller's culinary career first took shape in Israel, where he had begun covering the Tel Aviv dining scene after being discharged from the military. He transitioned from writing about restaurants to cooking in their kitchens, eventually landing a job working under Chef Rima Olvera at Oasis. Ari developed his "relationship cuisine" culinary approach in Israel through his friendship with a particular Carmel Market fishmonger after whom his restaurant is named. From Musi Penster, he learned the value of establishing relationships with producers and purveyors and using the best ingredients. At his restaurant, Ari translates that relationship "through the plate" into a relationship with his guests. His ever-changing seasonal Israeli-inspired menu speaks to Ari's philosophy.

Education

Ari is a graduate of Clark University in Massachusetts. He attended the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he was enrolled in a graduate program for Middle Eastern Studies.
