Registered unemployed down by 6.4% y-o-y

Registered unemployment totaled 962,050 individuals in November, down 6.4% from November 2023 and up 15.5% from October 2024, the Public Employment Service (DYPA) said in a report released on Friday.

The report said that 47.9% of registered unemployed (460,387) were long-term jobless, of whom 343,209 (35.7%) were men and 618,841 (64.3%) were women.

The 30-44 age group recorded the highest number of unemployed (302,033 or 31.4%). Among the country’s regions, Attica and Central Macedonia recorded the highest numbers (290,410 and 178,993 respectively). The number of people receiving unemployment benefits totaled 170,851 in November.
