The 95th reunion of the descendants of Shelby County Illinois Pioneer Joseph Baker (1781-1865) was held at the former Neoga Grade School gym on Sept. 1.
Misty Mizeur led the group in prayer before the potluck meal. Cortlin Emmerich won a quilt made by Debra White. Betty Emmerich won the 50-50 drawing.
Awards were given to:
Eldest Baker descendant — Marilyn Knight, 83
Youngest — Ezekiel Mizeur, 13 months
Largest three-generation family — Debra White with children and grandchildren, numbering seven
Cousin traveling the farthest — Alberta Andrick, 432 miles from New Strawn, Kansas
Officers re-elected for next year are Debra White, president; Sue McMullen, vice president; and Bonnie Baker, secretary/treasurer. It was decided to change the date of the reunion to the Sunday after Labor Day.
