Mini Bass Amp that sounds like a larger amp
This mini bass amp produces good volume in the low bass notes and has features such as compression that I never thought I would get from a small battery powered amp. It's the first mini amp that I bought to use with a bass guitar and I did not expect too much. I am pleasantly surprised at the high quality sound and portability of this small unit. A LOT OF AMP IN A LITTLE BOX!
This is my second FLY 3. I use it primarily with my guitar. I bought it last year, when my family and I went on vacation. I wanted to travel light and didn't have room in my car for my oversized acoustic guitar and case. I did quite a bit of research before this purchase and compared it to the legendary Pignose and several other mini amps. As a semi pro of 35 years (meaning I have a day job), I can easily say that the Blackstar FLY has a vastly better tone. It additionally has echo, Bluetooth and a few other handy features, not available on most other "micro" amps. But back to the tone! . . . This amp sounds like a mini tube amp, crammed into a small 8"x 6" frame. This honestly has a tone good enough to record with. A big sound from a little box.
Didn’t expect much; just wanted something to practice without pulling out my SWR readhead. That little box had a nice big sound for it’s size. Plus the fact you can add an extension speaker to it; then your iPhone or drum machine to it is a real plus! I would definitely recommended it.
