These air stars have a non-standard depth and height pitch. Plus, the front edges of each step are rounded off. It's easy to lose your footing on them and slide down.

Also, you've just gotten out of an ass-crushing, uncomfortable seat that you've been sitting in for a couple of hours, and you've just hobbled partly sideways down a narrow aisle. All while carrying shit. You don't yet have complete walking stability at the time you hit the plane door.

Always use handrails on aircraft mobile stairs. Always.

I just hate poorly engineered stuff.

...that kind of fall is almost impossible to prevent. Notice he had his hand on the rail, but once he slid off the step and the fall began, there was little he could do to stop it. It's probably the step that caused it. The only thing he might have done differently is let someone else carry his bag so he could keep both hands on the rails--not always an option. Still, if it had been Biden, it would have been a story about his age, not the poor design of the steps.

It's from when he was coaching Cincinnati.

That's probably why you didn't hear anything.

It's from 2014 when he was attending the Military Bowl vs Virginia with Cincinnati.
