Browns NFL draft position: Move up again despite rooting interests failing in Week 12

Sadly, the most searched image currently for DBN is related to the Cleveland Browns and the NFL draft. Whether that is looking for images with Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders in them together or vague ones for articles on draft position or rooting interests from week to week, the NFL draft is the focus for most Browns coverage.

With one game left in Week 11, none of the important games for Cleveland helped their draft positioning except their loss to the New Orleans Saints.

After last week’s results, the Browns were positioned to draft fourth overall. With Monday Night Football’s results possibly impacting Strength of Schedule (SOS) around the NFL, including Cleveland’s, the Browns pick slot moved up to third after most of Week 11’s results:

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars
  2. Tennessee Titans
  3. Cleveland Browns
  4. Las Vegas Raiders
  5. New York Giants
  6. New England Patriots (first 3-win team on the list)
  7. New York Jets
  8. Carolina Panthers
  9. Dallas Cowboys
  10. New Orleans Saints (worst 4-win team)

A look at the current SOS shows just how close the four teams after Jacksonville are:

  1. Jaguars - .486
  2. Titans - .508
  3. Browns - .520
  4. Raiders - .525
  5. Giants - .526

A Dallas Cowboys win tonight could push Cleveland down to the fifth spot while a Cowboys loss is unlikely to move the Browns spot up.

A lot of games left in the 2024 NFL season but Cleveland is obviously in draft mode as the fourth quarter of Week 11 showed.

Looking at the other teams on the list, where do you think the Browns will end up drafting in the 2025 NFL draft?
