Warwick Davis is suing a hospital after his wife sadly died.
The Harry Potter actor is claiming medical negligence after Samantha Davis died in March 2024, aged just 53-years-old. Law firm Irwin Mitchell will be representing Warwick and his family, with specialist medical negligence solicitor Madeline Nugent working closely beside them.
According to reports, an inquest into Samantha's death was due to take place today [9 January], with Warwick and daughter Annabelle set to take part, but the hearing was adjourned before evidence was presented.
The inquest was meant to take place virtually from inside Inner West London Coroner's Court, but the Davis family's counsel William Chapman said that Warwick was not able to connect to the planned meeting.
It was suggested that the hearing be adjourned so that Warwick could fully contribute. It was pushed to a later date "as quickly as possible".
Samantha and Warwick met each other when the actor was just 17-years-old. At the time of her death, he announced the news in a heartbreaking statement made to the public.
He explained: "Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs." Warwick said that his late spouse was his "most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career".
"She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes."
Their children, Harrison and Annabelle, also paid tribute to their mother and said that Samantha's "love and happiness carried us through our whole lives".
"Mum is our best friend and we're honoured to have received a love like hers. With her by my side, I was sure I could achieve anything, it was like having a super-power."
Warwick continued with his own tribute. "Without Sammy, there would have been no Tenable quiz show, no Willow series. No Idiot Abroad Series 3. She was passionate about helping people, without judgment. She had time for everyone and a genuine listening ear."
