Reason Peaky Blinders fans are convinced Mr Tumble is a 'missing Shelby brother'
Fans of the Peaky Blinders are convinced that Mr Tumble is a long lost Shelby brother after a strange link between the BBC drama series and CBeebies' iconic Something Special character have come to light
A bizarre connection between Mr Tumble and the Peaky Blinders has been unearthed.
The conspiracy theory is so wild that CBeebies was forced to speak out. Over on X/Twitter, user @theliving noticed something rather unusual.
They tweeted: "Just stumbled on the biggest conspiracy theory ever. Mr Tumble (CBeebies) and Thomas Shelby (Peaky Blinders) live in the same house. Is Mr Tumble a Peaky Blinder? Another BBC conspiracy comes to light."
@theliving added two pictures to their bold statement - one showing a screenshot from the CBeebies series Something Special, which stars Justin Fletcher as the iconic Mr Tumble, and a screenshot from the BBC series Peaky Blinders, each showing a large sprawling mansion in the countryside.
The official CBeebies X/Twitter account replied to the conspiracy with a cheeky response: "By order of Mr Tumble!," a subtle reference to the Peaky Blinders' famous catchphrase.
Fans of Peaky Blinders were tickled at the suggestion and flocked to comment on the tweet. One person tagged BBC News and branded the claims a "proper scoop" while another theorised how Mr Tumble could fit into the show's plot.
"Is Mr Tumble the missing Shelby Brother. Has he joined the Board and most importantly has Arthur joined Cbeebies as Mr Tumble enforcer?"
Back in 2020, the official CBeebies account also tweeted: "Would you watch a Mr Tumble x Peaky Blinders collab? We know we would! #ThursdayThoughts"
One person responded: "Aunt Polly would rule the roost," while another chimed in: "Would explain where Mr and Mrs Tumble have disappeared off to."
